The following is a condensed list of events that occurred in the town of Taos.

MAY 5

9:44 a.m. Welfare Check, Electric

Sheep – Caller said a man was staking his clothes on and off.

7:29 p.m. Information Report, Ranchitos Road – Caller said her niece was calling and harassing her, making fun of her and saying she was slow.

8:07 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Paseo del Pueblo Norte – Caller said she was getting a smell from her back window like something had died. An officer could not find a similar smell.

9:20: p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Walmart – Caller said two men were fighting, one in a Chevy Malibu and the other in a Chevy pickup. Two misdemeanor citations were issued.

MAY 6

8:45 a.m. Burglary, Hampton Inn – Caller said their vehicle was broken into and a tablet was taken during the night.

8:53 a.m. Graffiti, El Taoseño – Caller said someone had spray painted a naked lady, a sun face and a bee on the back wall.

10:52 a.m. Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Quality Inn – Caller said someone stole her vehicle in the middle of the night.

3:04 p.m. Alcohol Offense, Super Save – Caller said a man was lying down behind the Super Save near the dumpsters with a box of PBR. 3:21 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Gutters Bowling

– Caller said a white and grey motorhome was parked in the area of Gutters for four days and that didn’t think they should be there.

3:46 p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Taos Plaza – Caller said a man was yelling and being weird. He was told to keep it down.

11:30 p.m. Psychiatric Behavior, Smith’s – Officers made contact with a woman who seemed to be having an episode, and who was saying that everyone was going to get her. She was taken to Holy Cross.

MAY 7

1:56 a.m. Alcohol Offense, Taos

Christian Academy – Caller said she

was at the church on Witt Road and she was overdosing, but appeared to not make much sense. She said she was at her aunt’s house, but couldn’t name the aunt. She was taken to Holy Cross.

2:33 a.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Martyrs Lane

– Caller said they could hear someone screaming next to Bent Street. Officers did not make contact with anyone who made the noise. 8:20 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, Camino de la Merced – Caller said she witnessed a woman punching something or someone in the back of an SUV. Caller said the daughter of the woman got out of the vehicle crying and got onto the bus.

10:40 a.m. Larceny, Deliberately Fit – Employee said that someone broke into the gym and stole a speaker last night around 2 a.m.

1:47 p.m. Harassment, Hampton Inn – Caller said a man was taking pictures of him and acting very suspicious. Caller said his dad has had previous problems with the individual before.

6:31 p.m. Narcotics Offense, Alberstons – Caller said a man in a red Cadillac was smoking weed. Officers did not find anyone in a red Cadillac.

10:29 p.m. Theft of a Motor Vehicle – Caller said her friend walked into her home and stole the keys to her Nissan. The friend called in to say she had just parked the car somewhere else.

10:55 p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Martyrs Steakhouse – Caller said a man was yelling at people and people at Martyrs were making fun of him.

MAY 8

7:09 a.m. Traffic Stop, State Road

518 – Officers tried to stop a silver Mitsubishi when it took off. The vehicle was driving all over the road, into oncoming traffic, driving at speeds of 90 mph. The car was finally stopped near Perry Supply on State Road 522. Three people were taken into custody. 10:04 a.m. Shoplifting, Autozone – Caller said two individuals had stolen some tools and took off heading southbound on foot.

10:17 a.m. Larceny, Albertsons – Caller said a man stole a basket full of ties and some other things, and that he tried to hit the caller with a rock, and stated he had a knife.

12:30 p.m. Alcohol Offense, Taos Mesa Brewing – Caller said a woman was stumbling in the parking lot and passing in and out of consciousness. No contact was made by officers. 4:10 p.m. Information Report, Burch Street – Caller said that the neighbor’s tree had fallen on their vehicle. Taos Fire was able to remove the tree.

9:18 p.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Walgreens – Caller said they saw a UFO going west to east with about 100 lights all spaced out. It was likely the Starlink satellites.

MAY 9

12:51 a.m. Psychiatric Behavior,

Super 8 – Caller said there were three men hiding in his closet and did not know who they were. The caller sounded confused and was possibly hallucinating.

3:05 p.m. Property Found, Sagebrush Inn – Employee said they found a firearm in a guest’s room and wanted the police to pick it up. 4:43 p.m. Domestic Disturbance, Gusdorf Road – Caller said her ex boyfriend had thrown her down twice and taken their child.

5:29 p.m. Threatening Phone Call, Super 8 – Employee said a woman who was asked to leave earlier kept calling and sending threatening emails to the hotel.

10:56 p.m. Wild Animal, McDonalds – Caller said a bear ran across the road, into the McDonalds parking lot.

MAY 10

12:36 a.m. Assault, Caffe Renato – Caller said a guy with red hair and a black bandana tried to light him on fire with a spray can and lighter. No contact was made with a red haired man.

7:22 a.m. Criminal Damage, Taos Municipal Court – Someone had broken the window on the door of the courthouse. 9:03 a.m. Animal Stray, Trujillo Trailer Park – Caller said there were a lot of stray cats in the area and they were a health hazard to her children. 10:21 a.m. Breaking and Entering, Heritage Fine Arts – Caller said the gallery was broken into and a lot of items were stolen, including speakers. 4:47 p.m. Sex Offense, Juan Largo Lane – Caller said a man was masturbating and when told to leave he refused. When officers made contact, the man denied the action.

9:41 p.m. Shoplifting, Walmart – Employee said they caught a shoplifter who had taken some clothes and batteries. He was issued a citation. 10:40 p.m. Wild Animal, El Pueblo Lodge – Officers spotted a bear running in the road. It appeared to be a baby and climbed up a tree. Game and Fish were contacted, but no answers meant the bear had to be left alone.
