The following is a condensed list of events that occurred in the town of Taos:

JULY 21

12:07 a.m. DUI, Sagebrush Inn – Officers tried to pull over a Ford F250 who failed to stop. Eventually, the officers pulled the vehicle over. One person was arrested, taken to Holy Cross, then to the county jail.

4:25 a.m. Suspicious Circumstances, Taos Central

Dispatch – Caller asked dispatch what the biggest hotel was in Taos, and then asked what the tallest tower in Taos was. Dispatch responded the buildings were at TSV and Red River. Officers patrolled the hotels and everything “appeared to be normal.” 12:31 p.m. Welfare Check, Burch

Street – Multiple callers reported a man laying in the grass with no shirt on who appeared to be sleeping. An officer made contact with a man who was okay, and said he was just lying in the shade.

JULY 22

5:13 a.m. Suspicious

Circumstances, Weimer Road – Caller said someone was crying at his front door while knocking on it. A woman who had just been released from Holy Cross was looking for a ride. An officer gave her a ride. 11:07 a.m. Larceny, Big 5 – Caller said a woman walked into the store, stole a speaker and took off towards McDonald’s. No contact was made. 4:48 p.m. Suspicious

Circumstances, Tractor Supply – Caller said three individuals had been in the parking lot and were looking at things that were locked up.

JULY 23

1:59 a.m. Disturbing the Peace,

El Monte Sagrado – Caller said a female guest was highly intoxicated and giving security a hard time. Law enforcement officers escorted her back to her room.

6:28 a.m. Shoplifting, Smith’s – Caller said a man walked in and tried to steal a bottle of shampoo, and that the man does that almost every morning. The caller was able to take back the shampoo this time. 9:39 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, Paseo del Pueblo Sur – Multiple callers reported a man beating up a woman in a silver vehicle, and said the woman took off running on foot. Officers were unable to locate her. 5:34 p.m. Wild Animal, Carson Trailer Park – Caller said her neighbor was was housing wild coyotes inside the residence as pets.

JULY 24

9:53 a.m. Harassment, Walgreens

– Caller said a woman in a bikini was chasing customers around and harassing them. An officer made contact with the woman who became irate. She was dropped off at the Hail Creek intersection.

1:12 p.m. Welfare Check, Sierra Vista Road – Caller said his cousin had called him saying she had fallen a couple of times. Officers were able to make entry to the house and found the woman who appeared to be asleep. She was unresponsive, but woke up screaming when tapped on the shoulder. She was okay and medics left the scene.

9:06 p.m. Harassment, Dominos – Caller said one of the employees was not doing their job right and wanted an officer there.

9:41 p.m. Fire, Fred Baca Park – Caller said there was a car in the right lane completely on fire. Taos Volunteer Fire Dept. showed up and quickly extinguished the fire.
