Red River Folk Festival rings in sixth year with legendary acts

STAFF REPORT

THE 6TH ANNUAL Red River Folk Festival returns Sept. 23-26, 2021. Venues include Brandenburg Park, The Motherlode Saloon, and The Bittercreek Ranch Amphitheater. Tickets are available for the musical feast, featuring Michael Martin Murphey, Mary Gauthier, Junior Brown, Max Gomez, Terry Allen, Jed Zimmerman, Bob Livingston and more.

The four-day event is held in partnership with Red River’s renowned Miner’s Market Artisan Craft Fair, together drawing thousands of visitors each year. This exciting boutique festival continues after a one-year hiatus as a true listeners paradise, in the beautiful alpine setting of Red River, in Northern New Mexico.

“Coming home to New Mexico and producing the festival, alongside friends and family, has become a staple in my life,” says Taoseño, Max Gomez. “It’s a lot of work bringing people together from across the country for a weekend of music, but for me it’s a labor of love. Each year we look forward to September in Red River – not only for the great music, but also for the clean mountain air.”

The vision for the Red River Folk Festival is to keep the music alive in the tradition of great songs and great performances. To make music of the folk, for the folk and by the folk.

We’ll have an interview with Max Gomez closer to the date, with more info and updates. Stay tuned.
