Delia D. Garcia

Passed away peacefully on January 2, 2022. She is survived by children Lawrence (Faride), Michael, Andrew (Lorrie), Marian (Frank), Peter (Janet), Bernadette, and Geraldine (Joe). Delia is survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Frank Duran (Anna Marie), Billy Duran (Dora), Clarence Duran (Carol), Dolores Klingbeil and Luisa Duran (David). Delia is reunited in paradise with her husband, Daniel

Garcia, parents, Bersabe and Dionicio Duran, siblings Lorraine Duran, Onesimo Duran and Albert Duran, son-in-law Charles Pacheco, and daughterin-law Linda Garcia. Delia was born and raised in Rio Lucio, NM on September 3, 1925. She attended the University of Albuquerque where she met her husband, Daniel. They lived and raised their children in Rio Lucio, NM. She taught elementary for several years and catechism for 43 years. In 1964, Delia and Daniel opened Garcia’s Store. Delia welcomed customers with a smile. Delia was a member of the Catholic Church and prayer was a big part of her life. Her hug could cheer your soul on the toughest day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: San Antonio De Padua Catechism Program (PO Box 460 Penasco, NM 87553) or Penasco Valley Historical Preservation Society (PVHPS, PO Box 861, Penasco, NM 87553) She will be laid to rest January 17, 2022 at 10:00 am, Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
