Update: Michigan man arrested, charged with stabbing Taos High School cross country runner

Taos Schools have no security in place. The worst school in the district is Arroyos. Coming from Colorado it’s so obvious. I worked in an inner-city school several years and we did monthly drills. I always told my child to remember what she learned in Colorado if an incident ever occurred. Thankfully it never did. Parents need to speak up for security, but alert

their kids and prepare them just in case. Prayers for the family. But the real question is, if the attacker chose to go to the school during the day, or had a gun, how safe would our kids be? Is there anything we can do or do we just accept how things are? If there was sports practice after school, I believe the front gate remains open. Anyone can go in and out. In the article, it says this man was talking to a teacher so there was staff in front. But it’s a shame that more people come here from other places putting our community at risk for these type of incidents to happen.
