Special Event

THE GLAM TRASH FASHION SHOW is happening on the Taos Plaza Sept. 24 starting at 5:30 p.m. A vibrant, glitterfilled celebration of recycled fashion, it is one of Taos’ longest running free public art events. GTFS is an annual runway competition of recycled wearable art, giving artists and budding fashion designers of all ages a chance to shine as their creations wow an adoring crowd. Come share a fashion piece made of at least 90 percent reclaimed materials or join the audience. Either way — be prepared to be amazed at what you see!

AMERICAN LEGION POST 16 is hosting a yard sale Sept. 24 at the wellness center located at 428 Theodora Street. Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Forest & Garden (535 Paseo del Pueblo Norte). For more information, contact Commander G. Wayne Rivali at wrivali@yahoo.com. DREAMTREE is leading a local collaborative AmeriCorps program called the Enchanted Circle Corps (ECC), with a focus on performing outreach within the community to spread the word about local available services and resources and to connect community members to those resources. DreamTree is looking to recruit members to the program. For more information, visit dreamtreeproject. org/ecc.
