Taos Chamber Music Group presents Hub New Music.

The Taos Chamber Music Group’s 30th Anniversary Season continues on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28-29, 5:30 p.m. in a program called “New Pathways” at the Harwood Museum in Taos. The concerts feature Hub New Music, a Grammy-nominated flute, clarinet, violin and cello quartet that paves new musical pathways. “Shatter Me” by 17- year-old composer Sage Shurman, a co-commission with TCMG, will have its world premiere, in addition to James Diaz’s “Lines of acid dreams,” Dai Wei’s “how the stars vanish,” Julius Eastman’s “Joy Boy” and, with TCMG flutist Nancy Laupheimer, Efrain Amaya’s “Pathways.” More information at taoschambermusicgroup. org. Film Prize Junior New Mexico Launches Second Year.

Film Prize Junior, a statewide youth film education and festival competition program, has announced the start of its second year serving New Mexico classrooms. In its first year, the program supported over 500 students from 16 N.M. counties to create 60 films that were featured on the big screen at their April festival. Students compete for scholarships and media grants in categories such as comedy, drama, thriller, animations, and documentary. This year’s Film Prize Jr NM festival will be held at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque on April 1, with the award ceremony on April 2 at the Historic Lobo Theater. Millicent Rogers Museum in El Prado, New Mexico carries on a long-running tradition with its 21st Annual Miniatures Show & Sale featuring new artworks from more than 200 artists in Northern New Mexico. The exhibition is on view from Feb. 4 through Mar. 5, and it begins with a ticketed Preview Party on Feb. 3 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This year’s “Minis” features paintings, sculptures, ceramics, santos, jewelry, drawings, photography, and mixed media artworks. All artwork sales support both the artists and the museum. Artworks will be for sale at the museum during the Feb. 3 Preview Party and then both at the museum and online at millicentrogers.org from Feb. 4-Mar. 5.

Vista Grande High School student collage is on view at the Millicent Rogers Museum through April 30, with an Open House event Thursday, Jan. 26 from 4:30-6 p.m. Students participated in discussions and activities highlighting career possibilities within the museum sector through reflections on personal interests, the role of tourism in New Mexico’s economy, and intersections of art, culture, and technology. Each grade level focused on a particular process or art media activity, culminating in a mixed media collage installation at the Millicent Rogers Museum.
