Taos Police blotter

The following is a condensed list of reports made to Taos Central Dispatch within the town of Taos from Jan. 18-22.

JAN. 18

1:54 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance, Days Inn — Caller said there were two men in a truck “acting suspicious,” noting that no one should be on the property.

7:20 p.m. Information Report, Albertsons — Caller said a black car attempted to hit him.

9:14 p.m. Be on the Lookout, Taco Bell — Caller said someone pointed a gun at the drive-thru worker. It ended up being “kids playing with gel-cap guns.”

JAN. 19

1:10 p.m. Assault, Silva’s Tire Center — Caller said a man with a gun in his car threatened to shoot him. 4:47 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance, Taos Community Auditorium — Caller said a bunch of people and dogs were standing around a van, looking “shady.”

5:06 p.m. Adult Narcotics Offense,

La Lomita Trailer Park — Caller said two females were in their car “smoking crack with a baby in the back.” The female was just using a breathalyzer to start her car. No report was filed.

JAN. 20

9:47 a.m. Domestic Disturbance,

Autozone — Caller said a man and a woman were fighting and pushing each other around while walking toward the courthouse. The two were both intoxicated and were looking for a ride to the pueblo. They were dropped off at Allsup’s northside, and tribal police were contacted. 7:45 p.m. Reckless Driver, Albertsons — Caller said there were teenagers doing donuts, possibly with alcohol involved. 10:11 p.m. Traffic Stop, Albertsons

— Caller said there were multiple cars doing donuts in the parking lot. 11:21 p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Herdner Road — Caller said there was “yelling and screaming” and it looked like someone was being shaken around in a car. They weren’t fighting; they were only arguing.

JAN. 21

11:25 a.m. Harassment, Ranchitos

Road — Caller said they received a cease and desist letter from their neighbor, who they’ve been having trouble with. Police called it a “civil matter.”

12:21 p.m. Information Report,

Gusdorf Place — Caller said a neighbor stole their phone and would not give it back.

2:57 p.m. Trespassing, Walmart — Caller said two people in a gray car with buckets on top and blankets over the window refused to leave the premises. Police told them to leave. 3:59 p.m. Information Report, Martyrs Lane — Caller said he heard a rumor that someone was hired to kill him, and he “just wants to know what to do.” No report was filed.

4:35 p.m. Harassment, Taos Youth and Family Center — Caller said a group of roughly seven kids were threatening and harassing them, noting that one of them possibly had a knife. Police warned kids of the consequences and found no knife. No report was filed.

6:51 p.m. Welfare Check, Walmart — Caller said there was a woman sitting on the floor, talking to herself for an hour. She was fine.

11:05 p.m. Disturbing the Peace, Jaramillo Street — Caller said there were cars blocking the road and being loud. Police found no such gathering.

JAN. 22

1:35 a.m. Information Report, Las

Cruces Drive — Caller said her intoxicated son was “going crazy” and destroying property. 2:43 a.m. Welfare Check, Taos

Retirement Village — Caller, a nurse, said she needed to get in contact with a resident, but the resident was refusing. Police arrived, and the resident was very angry and denied needing help. The officer did not ID the resident “due to her being angry and slamming the window shut.” 11:02 a.m. Animal Bite, Herdner Road — Caller said her neighbor’s dog killed her dog.

4:31 p.m. Welfare Check, Albertsons — Caller said a crying child was asking customers if he could wash their windows for money. 4:34 p.m. Harassment, Lavadie Trailer Park — Caller said her neighbor has been sending threatening texts and filing false reports about her to the New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department.
