The following is a condensed list of reports made to Taos Central Dispatch within the town of Taos from May 17-21.

May 17

1:46 a.m. Psychiatric Behavioral, Gusdorf Road — Caller said she was choking on a cough drop. When police arrived, she was not choking on anything. She questioned why the police weren’t in pajamas, as she was under the impression it was their pajama day.

1:34 p.m. Welfare Check, Taos Eco Park — Officer was flagged down by a runner who said there was a “really bad smell” emanating from a tent. No contact was made with a smell or a tent.

May 18

1:28 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, Herdner Road — Caller said a man head-butted her before barricading himself inside the residence, using couches outside of the door. They had been drinking.

7:18 p.m. Traffic Hazard, Holly Circle — Caller said there was a “large turkey causing a disturbance in the area” that “looks like a TV turkey, a real big one that you stuff in the oven, not the typical skinny turkey but a fat, fat turkey; it’s just slowly waddling in and out of the roadway.” It wandered onto another residence.

May 20

8:58 a.m. Welfare Check, Gusdorf Road — Caller said there was a woman walking with a bloody face. Police made contact. She had a nosebleed while running. Police gave her a napkin.

2:22 p.m. Suspicious Circumstance, Dollar Tree — Caller said a man in an orange jail jumpsuit kept ducking behind bushes. Police arrived and found “Kyle sitting behind a little bush minding his business.”

7:45 p.m. Welfare Check, Autozone — Caller said there was a man stuck between some seats near the bus stop yelling for help. No contact was made.

May 21

9:13 a.m. Domestic Disturbance, Gusdorf Road — Caller said they heard a child screaming. Police made contact with the parents and determined it was not a domestic and that “this is a mother and father disciplining their son; they are just being good parents.”
