Norm Ferguson

Age 79, of Taos passed away on 4/28/2023. He was the son of Norman and Annetta Ferguson and was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Ridley Park High School in suburban Philadelphia in 1962 where he earned varsity letters in cross country, basketball, and baseball. He played second base on the 1962 Ridley Park championship team. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA in 1966, Norm went on to receive a Ph.D. in biological psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1972. He then accepted a position at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN where he taught psychology for twenty-seven years. He retired in 1999 and moved to Taos. For several years he taught psychology courses at Taos High School through the dual credit program with the University of New Mexico -Taos. He wrote many popular opinion pieces for the Taos News. His love of nature and deep appreciation of the New Mexico landscape brought him great joy. He had a very good sense of humor and loved to read. Norm cherished his dear wife, Anne Marie, and treasured his many friends in Taos and Minnesota. He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie Petrokubi, a sisterin-law Ruthanne Ferguson of Springfield, PA and two nephews, Scott Ferguson and Ian Ferguson.
